Response to RCC – RLAG
The Ryhall Library Action Group compiled this report to Rutland County Council ahead of its full meeting on 27th February. It contains a compelling case for RCC to keep the library open and contains useful evidence, arguments, data and quotes in support.
Within it you will find: the community’s response; the case for keeping libraries open nationally; the case for keeping Ryhall Library open, and options for our library’s future.
We hope this helps to achieve an amendment in the budget meeting to discuss the financial provision of maintaining our village libary.

Proposal for a CML
The Ryhall Library Action Group has spent much time researching Community-Managed Libraries as an alternative option for keeping a library in Ryhall.
This report makes the case for a CML and covers: the success of CMLs in neighbouring counties; proposals and potential funding; a process for setting up a CML in Ryhall with the Parish Council; what would need to be considered to set one up in our village.
There is a potential avenue for Ryhall Parish Council to take on the library building and so this report will be key should that come to fruition.
Please note that financial details are not in this version of the report to allow RPC to approach RCC with an ability to negotiate the best possible outcome for the future of our library.
